Build Profile: Coastal Salt Ruck
Earlier this year, we were given the opportunity to build a themed Ruck for Coastal Smokehouse. Over the summer, we were given another opportunity to build a ruck for Coastal Salt, the sister restaurant to Coastal Smokehouse. This popular Ocean City restaurant has a prime location on the OCMD boardwalk featuring an open and airy concept and we knew we had to capture these features on this build.
The Concept
The Final Product
Like everything that we do here at Small Fast Things, we spared no expensive in creating a completely unique custom Ruckus. Along with the usual custom logo cutouts that we worked into the accent pieces, we put together a truly unique rear frame/seat setup. To construct it, we took a stock seat frame, chopped the front legs off of it, bobbed the rear bend, flipped it around, and welded it as far back on the rear frame a possible. Some custom CNC laser cutout logo plates were used as forward supports for the "floating" seat frame. We call it the flipped floater layback seat. The paint and color scheme was white and blue to match the decor of the restaurant itself. We went with pearl metallic white for the rear frame and battery box and navy blue for the bottom front frame, motor, and accent pieces.
"Flipped Floater Layback Seat"
For this build, we stuck with the stock 50cc GET motor but added performance pieces such as the the SFT PC20 Big Carb Kit, SFT Speed Kit, and a performance exhaust. Rear suspension features a Forsa Performance Shock with color matched spring. Check out the accent pieces to tie the motor all together with the rest of the bike.
For the footwork, we went with Dorbyworks Super Mesh 13x8 and 12x4 matching wheels with chrome spike accents. The motor stretch is a prototype SFT Stainless Steel Pro Mount. Keep an eye out for its future release.
13x8 Super Mesh Wheels
Here you will see a custom themed HTmoto seat cover with heat pressed logos.
For the hand controls, we went with a BMX style handlebar setup for extra comfort and silver billet grips. Check out the dual chrome push buttons in the battery box. One runs the extensive LED lighting system and the other is an auxiliary for future use.
Some additional detail shots.
Enjoy this build profile and don't forget to stop by Coastal Salt located on 16th street on the boardwalk next time you are in Ocean City, MD.
